With prophase and its visible chromatins
The forming of miotic spindles can begin
The nucleus has disappeared
For the way of centrioles to be clear

Now in the metaphase chromosomes align
As spindles and kinetochores combine
This organization is necessary
To ensure each cell has a copy

In anaphase the chromosomes don’t stay close
Because they move towards the centrosome poles
The microtubules push and pull aside
While the kinetochores hitch a ride

Now in telophase the cycle finishes
As the newly formed cell wall pinches
The two daughter cells will split apart
Allowing for cytokinesis to start
